ALL THE GOOD DOGS
BY ERIC TRUDELL
A NEW PLAY WORKSHOP
In Sydney, Nova Scotia, on Cape Breton Island, a young man goes missing just a few days before he flies across the country to enrol in a substance abuse rehabilitation program. His disappearance is the biggest issue in town. That is, for a few days.
When the rest of Sydney seems to move on, the missing boy’s brother and friends take it into their own hands to find him. And as a swarm of bedsheet ghosts on tiki torches begin to litter the townscape, the friends will make sure that no one is able to ignore Isaac’s disappearance any longer.
All the Good Dogs asks: Which people in a society are allowed to go missing? and, What does it take to convince a community to care about their most vulnerable?
